About us
Care across borders, coordinated by people
MedBridge Access connects patients anywhere in the world with certified specialists in India — for an online consultation, a second opinion, or a full course of treatment.
Why we exist
Good medical care is unevenly distributed, and not always in the direction you would expect. The constraint is often not expertise or money but time — the months spent waiting for a scan, a referral, an opinion. We know that because it is how this company started.
In 2023, one of our founding partners, Mrinaal Tomar, was living in Canada with a suspected ACL tear. The wait for a scan — not surgery, not a specialist appointment, simply an MRI to find out what was wrong — was upwards of six months. He flew to India instead. The imaging, the specialist review, and the plan that followed were completed in a fraction of that time, and for less than the cost of waiting.
That is a strange thing to discover: that crossing an ocean can be faster and cheaper than staying put. It also suggested a good many other people were in the same position — stuck in a queue, unsure whether travelling was realistic, and with no obvious way to find out. MedBridge Access was founded in 2024 to answer that question for them, in partnership with Dr Ashish Tomar, a spinal surgeon whose clinical judgment shapes how we work.
We are not a hospital and we are not a clinic. We are the layer that makes the introduction reliable — verifying credentials, handling scheduling across time zones, and staying reachable while a consultation is arranged. Often the most useful thing we do is help someone work out whether travelling is worth it at all.
What we do
Online consultations
A secure video consultation with a registered specialist, usually arranged within a few days. Suitable for assessment, review of existing reports, and follow-up.
Second opinions
An independent view on a diagnosis or proposed treatment, from a specialist in the relevant field who reviews your existing records before you speak.
Treatment coordination
For patients travelling to India, we help with hospital introductions, scheduling, and the practical arrangements around a course of treatment.
How we work
Every doctor is credential-checked
Practitioners supply their medical council registration number when they apply, and we review it before a profile goes live. Doctors also confirm that their registration is current and unrestricted, and that they carry professional indemnity insurance.
Every enquiry is read by a person
Bookings are not matched by an algorithm. Our coordination team reads what you have written and routes it to a specialist in the appropriate field — and tells you if we think your concern needs something we cannot arrange remotely.
Consultations are private
Video consultations are confidential between you and your doctor. We handle your information according to our Privacy Policy, and share it only with the practitioners and providers involved in your care.
We are clear about our role
MedBridge Access does not practise medicine. The doctors on our platform are independent practitioners, and the clinical relationship is between you and them. We provide the platform, the coordination, and the support around it — and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise.
Who we are
MedBridge Access is run by its two founding partners: Mrinaal Tomar, who leads technical and legal operations, and Dr Ashish Tomar, a spinal surgeon who leads medical operations.
Read how each of them came to this work, and how we divide clinical and operational responsibility between us.
